EL FARO IZALCO

Woluwé-Saint-Lambert, 2025

This is the story of meeting a lively family originally from Spain and El Salvador. They wished for a stained-glass transom above their front door.

They dreamed of featuring the “Lighthouse of the Pacific” in El Salvador while blending it with the universe of their favourite Belgian artist.

An atypical figurative creation was born: our interpretation of the volcanic cone Izalco, with Jean-Michel Folon subtly appearing in the sky and a nod to each family member.

The colours explore the four elements. We created an interplay of greens with the help of magnificent Youghiogheny glass, while the dove soars among handblown antique and opalescent glasses. Finally, the composition is brushed with the fiery red of the sun.
